M I C K E Y mouse!!

Good Morning!!

I know it's been awhile since my last post, things have been crazyyy here!! So much to do, so little time.  Today is my catch up day, and Baby Z is taking a nap, so perfect time to update my page!! :)

I have so much to tell you about!

So, a couple of weeks ago, I got an order for Mickey and Minnie Cake Pops.  Living in Orlando, it's probably a smart idea to perfect my Mickey and Minnie Cake Pops, and cupcakes.  I got my inspiration from Bakerella.  She is amazing, and hopefully I can perfect my pops to be as amazing as hers!!

My first try                                The Finished Product

Minnie?

Bakerella Cake Pops...I need to figure out how to do this! She has step by step instructions, but its not as easy as it looks!

The cake pops were for a group of students that came down from Cincinnati, from The International Academy to perform at Downtown Disney.  The kids did an amaaazing job and loved the little treats!

Last weekend, I did some really cute cake pops for Easter! I love experimenting with cake pops, there are soo many things you can do with them, and they're so fun! Perfect for party favors!

I did some cute Easter bunny, and chick ones for Easter:

I used marshmallow corners for the bunny ears, and sprinkles for they eyes and nose.  I wanted to draw on little mouths, but the food writers I have (Wilton, blah) would not write on the chocolate!! I just ordered some Americolor ones, which I've learned are the way to gooo.  Can't wait to try them out!

Last Sunday was the Chari-Tea for MWO (Muslim Women's Foundation) to raise money for women and families in need in the community.  Check out their page, they're doing some amazing work in the Orlando area! :)

I donated a basket of my goodies to be auctioned off during the silent auction at the Chari-Tea.  I was worried no one was going to bid on it, lol, BUT it was gone pretty quickly, phew.
It had a dozen cake balls, and half a dozen mini cupcakes along with a selection of tea and coffee!

I also donated some mini cupcakes for the actual event itself.  It gave me a chance to experiment with my new fondant texture mats.  so exciting!!  I was really proud of my little cupcakes! :)

C is for Cookie...

Over the weekend, I did an order of Sesame Street cupcakes for a birthday party.  It was my first time making them, and I think they turned out pretty good.  I did Big Bird, Elmo and Cookie Monster.  I suppose I could've done Oscar the grouch too; its pretty much the same concept as Cookie Monster.  Next time...

Here are some pics from that order:
I did basic chocolate cupcakes, with a vanilla buttercream, tinted with sesame street colors!!

Aren't they cute?! I love cookie monster! Elmo is cute too.  I used an orange reese's pieces for Elmo's nose.  Big Bird's beak is made of marshmallow and fruit roll up, and all of the eyes are cut out of fondant.

I have to admit, Big Bird was the most challenging.  I didn't have the right consistency of buttercream to do the feathers.

The next order I have is for Mickey Mouse cake pops.  I'm so excited about those, they're going to be soo cute!! :)

Have a sweet day!!

The 'zoya' cupcake is finally here!!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and a fun April Fool's Day! I didn't get to play any pranks, because my usual target was away on a deep sea fishing trip...oh well, J better watch out next year! :p

That's also the reason I wasn't able to update with the Zoya cupcake as promised. I had an order for 'Sesame Street' cupcakes (more on that later) and had to entertain/take care of the little one, which left no time for the computer...but now...

It's the moment you've all been waiting for (ok, really just me)! In honor of baby Z's 6 month birthday, I give you, the 'Zoya' cupcake!!

Sugar n spice, and everything nice!! It's an apple spice cupcake with a cinnamon buttercream.

And cuz baby Z looooves applesauce, I incorporated it into the cupcake as the secret ingredient...shh, don't tell anyone!

I know its not nearly as sweet as baby Z, BUT if her cuteness could be translated into a cupcake, this is totally what it would taste like!!

I can't wait for everyone to try it, I think its one of my best cupcakes!
